How to Personalize Leather Products
Most leather albums, leather frames and leather goods sold by Saint Clair can be embossed to personalize your product. To emboss leather you carefully apply heat and pressure to the leather to create an impression. A 24K gold film is often used to gold-emboss an event or date on the cover of a photo album or journal. Blind-embossing is recommended only for small leather goods, while silver-embossing works well on blue albums. Saint Clair does not emboss on the spine of an album but can arrange for it to be done by the manufacturer. Master-craftsman Luiz Lopez has been embossing albums for more than 20 years, so trust his judgement on adjusting the font size to your product. Follow these steps to personalize your album, scrapbook, journal or frame and please pay particular attention to Step 4.
1. Select the location for your embossing:

- CENTER1 - Centered above mid-point
- Center2 - If a second line is required
- Bottom - Centered at the bottom
- Right - Right adjusted at bottom

2. Select the emboss type. Well over 90% of our albums and leather goods are embossed in gold or gold-stamped. It is the most distinctive form of embossing. We occasionally receive request to emboss in silver. This is particularly attractive for navy, royal and light blue albums. Blind embossing is recommended only for small leather goods or to emboss one's monogram in the right hand corner of a travel journal. Blind embossing requires considerable pressure and heat to create a deep impression and this is generally only possible with soft leather such as calf skin.
3. Select the font style for your album (Script is available only for small albums):

4. Enter your text twice and remember it is case sensitive separated by one # or more ### symbols as a way to double-check your spelling and content. Failure to do so will delay your order because we need to re-confirm all personalized orders. Found below are examples of the Right and Wrong way to enter text to be embossed.

5. If you plan on adding a second line of text, we strongly recommend that you continue to use the same font style. To add contrast or emphasize the event use all CAPs for the first line and caps and lowercase for the second line. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. |
